Our weddings are particularly suited to small wedding parties but we have easily accommodated larger groups of up to 200 guests.

Civil Weddings

Surrounded by the majestic Julian Alps, and endowed with our island church and cliff top castle, Lake Bled is one of Europe's most romantic wedding locations.    The town has 1000 years of history, rich in tales of romance, nestled in natural beauty and overlooking crystal clear lake waters.
With this backdrop in mind we can recommend two locations where the legal seal of your married life can be given by the official registrar.  These are Lake Bled Registry Office and Lake Bled Castle.

Lake Bled's Registry Office

Lake Bled’s Registry Office surrounded by trees and parkland is located at lakeside with uninterrupted views of the island church and the mountains beyond.  Housed in an old villa, converted into the local municipal building it retains the charm of yesteryear.

The short service is held in both Slovene and your own language with views of the lake behind the registrar.  Recorded music is provided by the registrar but if you have special musical requirements these can be incorporated.

At the conclusion of the service the registrar will present you with 2 copies of the wedding certificate in a presentation folder.

Photos will be taken before and during the service.  Afterward photos are taken on the terrace overlooking the lake.

Lake Bled Castle

There are three things you cannot miss when you are in Bled: the island, the lake and the castle rising on the 100 metre white rock above it.  Ever vigilant the castle has been guarding the township and its people since 1004.

The historic setting provides an enchanting location for your wedding.  From these heights you are offered panoramic views of the lake far below as you express your commitment to each other. 

The castle boasts both a wine cellar and a print house.  In this location only, as optional activities we can arrange:

Commemorative Wine Bottling – In the castle wine cellar, you may fill your own bottle of local wine, and seal it ready for a special occasion such as your wedding anniversary, or the birth of your first child.  This traditional activity is fun and the first task you will complete together as husband and wife.

Wedding Souvenir – Why not mark this special event on in the castle print house.  With the assistance of the castle printer you can prepare and create a personal souvenir that you will cherish for years.  Perhaps your wedding vows.
